App improvements (v 1.1.40)
Hello darkness, my old friend. Version 1.1.40 of First Draft Pro includes the single biggest new feature request from writers: Full Dark Mode.
New features
Full dark mode: Weāve had partial dark mode in the deep focus feature for a while, but you asked for site-wide dark mode for those long writing sessions and we love to deliver. You can activate dark mode across the whole app from the toggle in your profile menu. š¤
Updates to templates: We refreshed the content in the 3 existing templates (30 Day Novel, Romantasy, and Short Stories), to include elements of the Story Genius methodology.
3 new templates: We released 3 entirely new templates: Romance, Christmas Romance, and a template inspired by the Story Genius methodology.
UI improvements: We made design updates to linked notes toolbars and the display of notes with long titles in your side bar, as well as to plan badges, highlights, and buttons.
Split screen with Chrome: Chrome recently released a browser update that lets you use two tabs in the same browser window, and hereās how you can use that for First Draft Pro (eg: If you want to view notes and your manuscript alongside one another).
Bug fixes
We fixed a bug that was affecting project selection and made accessing the correct project settings difficult.
We remedied an oversight on the project settings tab that meant that the ādeleteā button was inaccessible! Thereās a lovely little scrollbar now, so you can access the button to delete projects easily.
